‘Superchin’ Daryl Gurney joined MDA Promotions back in 2013 shortly after securing his PDC tour card at qualifying school, and Gurney hasn’t looked back since.

Prior to making the switch to the PDC, Gurney competed on the BDO circuit for a number of years – playing in two world championships and lifting the England Masters, Northern Ireland Open and the Tom Kirby Memorial Trophy.

After lifting the Tom Kirby Memorial title, Gurney secured a place at the 2013 PDC World Championship, reaching the second round.

In 2013, Superchin joined the PDC ranks as he came through qualifying school in Wigan. Since day one, Gurney’s potential has been there for us all to see – reaching two quarter-finals in his debut campaign.

Gurney’s breakthrough year came in 2017 – reaching the semi-finals of the UK Open, World Matchplay, European Championship and that form continued as the Irishman lifted his first PDC major title as he lifted the World Grand Prix title in Dublin.

After a massively successful campaign, Superchin was selected for the Premier League and has been ever present in the elite event. In 2018, Gurney lifted his second televised major title, winning the Players Championship finals title in Minehead – defeating world no.1, Michael van Gerwen.

In 2019, Gurney’s development as an elite-level player continued as he reached the semi-finals in the Premier League and reached the final four at both the World Matchplay and the European Championship. Gurney also picked up his first PDC European Tour title, defeating Ricky Evans in the German Darts Championship final.
