Building on our continued support of local sporting heroes, Total Hire and Sales is proud to announce its 2022 sponsorship of darts duo ‘Superchin’ Daryl Gurney and Nathan ‘The Natural’ Rafferty.

This will be the sixth year that Total Hire has backed Daryl Gurney as his career continues to go from strength to strength. Currently ranked 23rd in the world by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), in 2018, Gurney lifted his second televised major title, winning the Players Championship finals title in Minehead and defeating the world No. 1, Michael van Gerwen.

Gurney continued his rise to prominence, reaching the semi-finals in the Premier League in 2019 and the final four at both the World Matchplay and the European Championship. He also picked up his first PDC European Tour title, defeating Ricky Evans in the German Darts Championship final.

Hot on the heels of his fellow Northern Irishman, Nathan Rafferty is already causing a stir on the darts scene. In 2018 he won his first development tour title and has since added three more and a Challenge Tour victory. However, 2021 was a standout year for Rafferty; a runner-up in the World Youth final, he reached the last 16 of the Grand Slam of darts.

In association with MDA Events, the sponsorship will see both players wearing shirts with Total Hire and Sales’ distinctive branding on all televised and non-televised events. Their journey through the season and link with the firm will also be profiled across their social media platforms.

Carl Tidey, Total Hire and Sales, Managing Director, says: “It’s a pleasure to be working with MDA Events to support these two promising players as they continue to make their mark on the darts scene.

“Daryl has been a long-term friend of Total Hire and we’ve loved being a part of his progress during his rise up the ranks. We’re also thrilled to be backing Nathan as new talent and we can’t wait to see how his game develops.”

Matthew Ward from MDA Events, added: “It’s great to be working with the Total Hire and Sales team again. They’ve been really strong supporters of upcoming sporting talent and established players. Their backing makes a huge difference to helping their careers develop and we’re looking forward to sharing both Daryl and Nathan’s successes in 2022.”

We wish both players the best of luck!
