Two-time World Matchplay semi-finalist Daryl Gurney would have been hoping for a longer stay in Blackpool this year.
But unfortunately for Superchin, Danny Noppert halted the trip in round two to cut short his seaside visit.
Gurney began the tournament in fine shape, defeating the 2018 Matchplay champ, Gary Anderson in his opening round.
In a tight tungsten battle, it was the Derry man who eventually got the job done with a 10-7 victory over the Scot.
However, in his next match against the reigning UK Open winner, Noppert, Daryl paid the price for a slow start, eventually succumbing to the Dutchman 11-4.
It was a disappointing end to the campaign and, despite averaging a healthy 94.69 average, it wasn’t enough to thaw the Freeze who performed excellently.
Next stop for Gurney is Barnsley. A few days break then it’s back to the oche for Mr Superchin.
